AFSCME members fought for and won major investments in state workers this year at the bargaining table and the legislative session.
These victories are made possible because of the years-long effort to win collective bargaining rights, our robust political mobilization, relentless advocacy, and all of us coming together as a union to fight for better pay, working conditions and improved state services.
Members of AFSCME Local 4041 filed two legal actions on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, against Governor Joe Lombardo for violating state employee collective bargaining rights, enshrined in state law as NRS 288.
As the union for Nevada state employees, AFSCME Local 4041 has fought for and won improvements to our lives, working conditions and the services we provide.
We are very pleased to see Governor Sisolak keeping his commitment to our state workers and honoring our collective bargaining agreement by requesting a bill that will appropriate funds for the 3% wage increase negotiated by AFSCME for the 2021 fiscal year.
Recently, Governor Steve Sisolak announced a $50 million dollar investment in childcare to help more working families across Nevada find the childcare they need. This investment expands access and eligibility for childcare assistance to more families.
Congratulations to our new executive board, elected and sworn in at the 2022 Convention in April!
Serving on our union executive board takes dedication and time – we are grateful to those who have stepped up to serve.
Below is our list of endorsed candidates for the 2022 Nevada primary. We believe these candidates are the strongest pro-worker candidates and will support Nevada public employees.
