AFSCME Local 4041 President Harry Schiffman has worked as an electrician at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for more than 20 years. A New York native, Schiffman graduated from UNLV with a degree in political science.

His involvement with organized labor began in his home state where he worked with a local union after participating in an apprentice program.

He has been Local 4041’s president for nearly four years and his goals include increasing membership, raising awareness about the need for a collective bargaining agreement and working to get state workers’ compensation restored to pre-recession levels.
